Medix FTP Service (the "Service") is designed to provide you with an easy way to transfer files relevant to the management of your case to Medix Medical Services Europe Limited ("Medix", "we" and "us").

 

The following terms and conditions together with the Medix Information Security Policy (which may be found at http://medix- europe.com/Information_Security_Policy.aspx) (together, the "Terms of Service"), form the agreement between you and us in relation to your use of the Service. You should read the Terms of Service carefully before agreeing to them. Using the Service

 

In order to use the Service, you will be required to log in by submitting your member number which was provided to you by the Medix staff, your name and e-mail address. Once you have logged in, you will be able to upload files to the Service. Protection of your information

 

We take the safeguarding of your information very seriously. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure of your information we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic and administrative procedures to safeguard and secure the files you upload to the Service. However, no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic data storage is 100% secure and while we have put in place appropriate protections, we cannot guarantee the security of information you upload to the Service.

 

Quality and availability of the Service

 

While we make reasonable efforts to provide the Service, it is provided "as is" with no representation, guarantee or warranty of any kind as to its availability, functionality, that it will meet your requirements or that it will be free of errors or viruses.

Fast action saved Lily’s life

Lily came to Medix for a different problem, but her Personal Medical Case Manager noticed that her jaw was twitching, and saved her life

Lily (62) suffered for many years from Psoriatic Arthritis – a skin disease that includes joint pain – but refused to take methotrexate. The medication is supposed to stop the progression of the disease, but Lily was scared of the side-effects that she read about on the internet. She was so worried that the medication would hurt her liver that she decided to ignore professional medical advice, and not take the medication.

 

For three years everything was wonderful. Lily was without pain, and felt great. Until a year and a half ago, when her joint pain returned. Lily, who was a believer in alternative medicine, sought the help of an acupuncturist. “I really believe in alternative medicine. I paid a lot of money on acupuncture, but the treatment would only work for a day, and then the pain would come back” she said, “even the acupuncturist recommended that I incorporate conventional therapies.”

 

The pain didn’t let Lily rest. “I took Neurofen twice a day”, she says. She decided to ask Medix for help. Lily’s Personal Medical Case Manager listened to all of Lily’s complaints, and convinced her to meet with one of the leading rheumatologists in Israel. The outlook was not optimistic; “if you do not take this medication, you will find yourself in a wheelchair, and in need of surgery” the specialist told her.

 

Lily decided to try the conventional medicine. She took the pills for a month, and then one day she got a strong headache. “When I got home, I felt a strange twitch in my jaw. I thought it was nothing, I thought it was because of the pills.” In any case, Lily contacted Medix again, since they were familiar with her case.

 

“When I got to Medix” Lily remembers, “they told me to go straight to the emergency room. They were concerned that I was having some sort of stroke.” Even before Lily arrived in the emergency room, a fax from Medix including her relevant medical information was waiting for the doctors.

 

An examination revealed a benign tumour in Lily’s head. The doctors decided that they had to act now and operate. Lily, who already understood that she doesn’t make any decisions without her Personal Medical Case Manager, immediately called Medix. “Should I do this operation in Ichilov? Is the surgeon here experienced enough? Are there other options?” These were the things she wanted to know.

 

“The moment Medix gave me the go-ahead, and told me to do the operation in Ichilov and with the surgeon, I relaxed. I trust them 100%” says Lily.

 

She entered surgery with confidence, and recovered wonderfully. Nine days after the surgery, and Lily was already home. “Medix were wonderful; they supported me every step of the way. Every day they called me, followed up with my recovery, and even visited me in the recovery room after the surgery.”

 

Several months after the surgery, Lily decided to start taking pills for her joints, again, and hopes for the best. She feels that if she hadn’t sought out Medix, it could have ended differently. “It was the best thing that happened to me. If I hadn’t used Medix’ service, I probably would have continued with the acupuncture for the joint pain, and I wouldn’t have even paid any attention to the twitch in my jaw. They simply saved my life.”
