Using the Service


In order to use the Service, you will be required to log in by submitting your member number which was provided to you by the Medix staff, your name and e-mail address. Once you have logged in, you will be able to upload files to the Service. Protection of your information


We take the safeguarding of your information very seriously. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure of your information we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic and administrative procedures to safeguard and secure the files you upload to the Service. Don’t get too close to it with your white shirt, but if you have high blood pressure you should be getting closer to beets. 
It’s already known that beets have the ability to lower blood pressure among people with normal blood pressure. In a study published in the medical magazine Hypertension, researchers tested whether beets had any effect on lowering blood pressure among those who suffer from high blood pressure. 
68 participants with high blood pressure participated in the study. The participants received 250 ml of beet juice every day, for four weeks. Part of the group was set aside as a control group, and received a placebo without the active ingredient Nitrate. 
The blood pressure of the participants who received the beet juice decreased by 7-8 mmHg; this effect was present throughout the treatment. That’s in contrast to the control group, which drank the juice without the active ingredient, and did not experience a change in blood pressure. 
In addition, endothelium function increased by 20% and hardening of the arteries decreased. The endothelium is the inner layer of blood vessels, whose function, among others, is to release chemicals that are in charge of blood vessel tone). 
This study shows preliminary support for the idea that one can lower blood pressure by eating foods rich with Nitrate.
